Comprising: Six historically accurate scale models in high-resolution, 3D-printed resin.
History: Škoda Works of Plzeň produced a series of reliable steel-cased aerial bombs for the K.u.K. Luftfahrtruppen during the First World War. Among these, the S.B. 15 sprengbombe, was a workhorse in Austro-Hungarian inventories alongside 10kg, 20kg, and 50kg bombs. Their deployment from about 1915 until the Armistice was typical of Austro-Hungarian aviation doctrine, which lacked larger strategic bombers and instead relied on smaller aircraft with modest bomb loads.
Operational Use: One of the few Austro‑Hungarian bombs produced in large numbers, the S.B 15 filled the same tactical niche for Austria‑Hungary that the German PuW 12.5 kg and PuW 20 kg bombs filled for the Luftstreitkräfte. Typically carried externally in groups of two to six on two-seat reconnaissance-bomber and light bomber aircraft and used tactically for battlefield interdiction, ground attack, and harassment missions along the Italian, Balkan, and Eastern fronts. Aircraft capable of wielding this bomb include the: Aviatik (Berg) C.I, Hansa‑Brandenburg C.I, Knoller C.I, Lloyd C‑series, Lohner B, C, and L types, Phönix C.I, and UFAG C.I.
Note: Images may include digital renderings of the actual 3D designs used to produce this scale model. Each respective scale is customized to ensure the greatest level detail and historical accuracy while factoring the limitations of the printing process in order to produce the most pleasing results.
