Bomb - WW1 Austro-Hungarian 18kg Wollersdorf (Set of 6)

Comprising: Six historically accurate scale models in high-resolution, unpainted, 3D-printed resin. Stripe decals included. Available in your choice of 1/32, 1/48, or 1/72 scale.

History: This 18kg aerial bomb belonged to a family of early unguided Sprengbomben produced by the Munitionsfabrik Wöllersdorf for the Kaiserliche und Königliche Luftfahrtruppen during the Great War. These high-explosive devices formed part of the empire’s early air-drop capability at a time when dedicated heavy bomber aircraft had yet to become operational.

Operational Use: Typically mounted under the wings in pairs, these bombs were deployed against tactical targets such as troop concentrations, supply dumps, rail lines, and forward positions along the Italian and Balkan fronts. While documentation is scarce, aircraft types structurally capable of carrying the W.B. 18 include various Albatros B.I and C-types; Aviatik B.III; Hansa-Brandenburg C.I and G.I; Lohner B.VII and C.I; Phönix C.I; and the UFAG C.I.
