Bomb - WW1 Austro-Hungarian 18kg Wollersdorf (Set of 6)

Comprising: Six historically accurate scale models in high-resolution, 3D-printed resin with decals.

History: This 18kg aerial bomb was from a family of early unguided sprengbomben produced by Munitionsfabrik Wöllersdorf for the Kaiserlich und Königlich Luftfahrtruppen during World War I. These high-explosive devices formed part of the Empire’s modest air-drop capability at a time when dedicated bomber aircraft were yet to become operational.  

Operational Use: Typically mounted underwing in pairs and deployed against tactical targets such as troop concentrations, supply dumps, rail lines and forward positions along the Italian and Balkan fronts. While documentation is scarce, aircraft capable of carrying the W.B.18 include the: Albatros B.I / C types, Aviatik B.III, Hansa-Brandenburg C.I and G.I; Lohner B.VII and C.; Phönix C.I; and Ufag C.I.
