Comprising: Six historically accurate scale models in high-resolution, 3D-printed resin.
History: Škoda Works of Plzeň produced a series of aerial bombs, including this 20kg high-explosive type, for the Kaiserliche und Königliche Luftfahrtruppen during the First World War. These simple, general-purpose, steel-cased sprengbomben were typically suspended externally on racks or hooks beneath the wings or fuselage of two-seat reconnaissance and light bomber aircraft. They were employed tactically for ground attack and battlefield interdiction on the Italian, Balkan, and Eastern fronts from about 1915–1918. The 'S.B. 20' would become one of the empire’s most common late-WWI bombs.
Operational Use: The S.B. 20. filled the same tactical niche for Austria‑Hungary that the German PuW 12.5 kg and PuW 20 kg bombs filled for the Luftstreitkräfte. Known to have been carried by the Albatros B.I, Aviatik B-types, Hansa-Brandenburg C.I and G.I, Lohner B.VII / C.I; other C-class two-seat reconnaissance aircraft such as Knoller C.II, Phönix C.I, Ufag C.I likely also deployed the S.B. 20.
Note: Images may include digital renderings of the actual 3D designs used to produce this scale model. Each respective scale is customized to ensure the greatest level detail and historical accuracy while factoring the limitations of the printing process in order to produce the most pleasing results.
