Bomb - WW1 British 1650lb H.E.R.L. 'SN'

Comprising: One historically accurate scale model in high-resolution, unpainted, 3D-printed resin. Available in your choice of 1/32, 1/48, or 1/72 scale. Pack includes one fin-tail option, one ring-tail option, and one Gledhill-type slip mounting rack for use with the Handley Page O/400. Parts are engineered to be displayed disassembled for an arming diorama or fully assembled for flight.

History: This was the heaviest aerial bomb deployed operationally by the British Royal Air Force (and the Independent Air Force) during the Great War. The 1,650lb SN was intended for strategic raids against German industrial centers, specifically targeting the destruction of the Essen Munitions Works—hence the initials "SN" (Siemens-Schuckert). Developed by the Royal Laboratory, this massive high-explosive device was constructed of a substantial steel casing and a specialized tail assembly that incorporated wooden components.

Operational Use: The 1,650lb SN was first deployed by No. 214 Squadron during a strategic raid on Middelkerke in midsummer 1918. By the end of the war, the only operational British aircraft capable of lifting and deploying this heavy ordnance were the Handley Page O/400 and the V/1500 (which carried a maximum payload of two).
