Bomb - WW1 British 20lb Cooper Mk.I (Capped) (Set of 8)

Comprising: Eight historically accurate scale models in high-resolution, unpainted, 3D-printed resin. One decal sheet included. Available in your choice of 1/32, 1/48, or 1/72 scale.

History: Developed mid-war, the Cooper 20lb high-explosive fragmentation bomb was the primary light anti-personnel and airfield-interdiction munition used by Allied air forces from late 1916 through the end of the war. Its small size and compatibility with standard light bomb shackles, such as the under-fuselage-mounted four-bomb carrier, enabled it to be carried by scouts, fighters, and multi-role tactical bombers alike.

In addition to the Royal Flying Corps and Royal Air Force, it was among the first bombs to be adopted by the United States Army Air Service and Belgium's Aviation Militaire Belge. It remained in use through the 1920s.

Operational Use: Documented to have equipped several aircraft, including the A.D. Flying Boat; Armstrong Whitworth F.K.8; Martinsyde G.100 and G.102 "Elephant," and F.4 Buzzard; Bristol F.2B Fighter; Airco D.H.4 (including the U.S.-built "Liberty Plane"), D.H.5, D.H.9, and D.H.9A "Ninak"; Bréguet 14 variants; Nieuport Nighthawk; Royal Aircraft Factory B.E. variants, F.E.2b, F.E.2d, B.E.12, R.E.8, S.E.5, and S.E.5a; Sage Type 3; Sopwith 1½ Strutter, 7F.1 Snipe, F.1 Camel, 5F.1 Dolphin, Pup, Rhino, and TF.2 Salamander; and the Vickers Vimy.
