Comprising: Two historically accurate scale models in high-resolution, unpainted, 3D-printed resin. Available in your choice of 1/32, 1/48, or 1/72 scale.
History: Developed within the official ordnance system under the direction of the Royal Laboratory to standardize heavier demolition bombs for the expanding strategic and tactical bombing campaigns of the Royal Flying Corps and Royal Naval Air Service, the 230lb bomb provided substantial destructive effect and became one of the principal heavy H.E. bombs of 1917–1918. A flat-nosed variant was developed for anti-submarine warfare. These were fused to explode 2.5 seconds after impact, allowing the charge to sink to about eighty feet before detonation.
Operational Use: Documented to have equipped several aircraft, including the Airco D.H.4, D.H.9, D.H.9A, and D.H.10; Blackburn G.P., S.P., and Kangaroo; Curtiss H-12 "Large America"; Fairey III; Felixstowe F.2A and F.3; Handley Page O/100, O/400, and V/1500; Martinsyde G.100 and G.102 "Elephant"; Royal Aircraft Factory F.E.2b and F.E.2d; Short Bros. Admiralty Types 184 and 320, Short Bomber, and N.2B; and the Vickers Vimy.
Note: Images may include digital renderings of the actual 3D designs used to produce this scale model. Each scale is customized to ensure the highest level of detail and historical accuracy, while balancing the limitations of the printing process to produce the most pleasing results.
