Bomb - British 50lb H.E.R.L. Mk. IV (Set of 4)
Bomb - British 50lb H.E.R.L. Mk. IV (Set of 4)
Comprising: Four historically accurate scale models in high-resolution, 3D-printed resin.
History: Designed to be stowed vertically rather than horizontally like most other British bombs of the era, the 50lb High Explosive bomb was developed by the Royal Laboratory. Perhaps its most famous use was during the Tondern Raid of July 1918, when seven Sopwith Camels flew from the deck of the HMS Furious to destroy two German Zeppelins.
Operational Use: Known to have been equipped to several aircraft types, particularly for the Royal Naval Air Service, including the A.D. Flying Boat, Avro Pike; Airco D.H.4 and D.H.9; and the Sopwith Type 807, Strutter, 2F.1 Ship Camel, and Rhino.
Note: Images depict renderings of the actual 3D designs used to produce this scale model. Each respective scale is customized to ensure the greatest level detail and historical accuracy while factoring the limitations of the printing process in order to produce the most pleasing results.
