Comprising: Eight historically accurate scale models in high-resolution, 3D-printed resin.

History: Manufactured from 1914 by the German company Sprengstoff AG Carbonit-Schlebusch, this high‑explosive ordnance was developed for use for heavier‑than‑air and dirigible bombing missions conducted by the Deutsche Luftstreitkräfte and Kaiserliche Marine.  Its cast‑iron lacrimiform body featured a steel‑tipped nose to aid penetration and an annular stabilizing fin shielding a propeller‑armed tail fuze.  The distinctive aerodynamic design was intended to improve descent stability, though in practice the early Carbonit series (including 4.5kg, 10kg, and 20kg variants) tended to oscillate and drift after release.  These were eventually supplemented by improved P.u.W. bomb types as the war progressed.

Operational Use: Surviving examples and archive records confirm use of the 50kg Carbonit bomb on strategic raids over north‑eastern England.  It served alongside smaller Carbonit variants with early R‑planes carrying them hung vertically in bomb bays and Zeppelins suspending them for release over targets. Aircraft types known to have carried the 50kg Carbonit bomb include the: AEG G.IV, Gotha G.1 and G.IV, various R-planes, and Zeppelin rigid airships.

Note: Images may include digital renderings of the actual 3D designs used to produce this scale model.  Each respective scale is customized to ensure the greatest level detail and historical accuracy while factoring the limitations of the printing process in order to produce the most pleasing results.
