Bomb - WW1 Italian 162mm Converted Mortar Bomb (Set of 6)

Comprising: Eight unpainted 3D-printed resin bombs in your choice of 1/72, 1/48, or 1/32 scale.  

History: During the Great War, the Corpo Aeronautico Militare and Servizio Aeronautico della Regia Marina adaptated trench‑mortar ammunition, including the 162mm bombarda shell, into aerial bombs in effort to achieve greater destructive effect against entrenched positions and rear‑area targets. With added tail fins, stabilizing vanes, and impact fuzes the 162mm converted-mortar bomb saw relative widespread operational use until specially designed devices were introduced. 

Operational Use: Typically, these bombs were carried externally and in small numbers , and were intended for short‑range missions against high‑value targets such as fortifications, rail hubs, and supply depots.  Aircraft known to have been armed with this type include Caproni, FBA, Macchi, SIA, and Voisin variants in addition to M-Class and V-Class airships.
