History: Developed early during WW1, the Cooper bomb was was used extensively throughout the war by the Royal Flying Corps. It was among the first high-explosive fragmentary bombs to be adopted by the RFC and the United States Army Air Corps for anti-personnel use. They remained in use through the 1920s.
