Scale

Comprising: One historically detailed 1/12 scale model in 3D-printed resin.  This unpainted gun mount is modeled in raised position.  It is produced using a durable flexible resin to help withstand the rigors of flight for RC aircraft.  Rigging material not included.

History:  The Scarff No.2 ring entered service during the summer of 1916; soon becoming the standard aerial-machine-gun fitting for the Royal Flying Corps, Royal Naval Air Service and Royal Air Force.  It was also adopted and adapted by other air forces, remaining in use well into the interwar period.

Operational Use:  Most commonly mounted with a single Lewis machine gun.  Occasionally two were affixed for improved firepower though this arrangement reportedly impaired maneuverability.  Used on many aircraft makes including: Airco, Armstrong Whitworth, Avro, Blackburn, Boulton Paul, Bristol, Fairey, Felixstowe, Handley Page, Hawker, Short Bros., Sopwith, Supermarine, Vickers, Westland, and Wight.

Note: Images may include digital renderings of the actual 3D design used to produce this scale model. Each respective scale is customized to ensure the greatest level detail and historical accuracy while factoring the limitations of the printing process in order to produce the most pleasing results.
